For more information regarding the use of your personal data, see our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

How do I find an available date for the workshop I like?

You can check for availability in the “Booking” section of your workshop. If the course has fixed dates, simply choose the date that suits you best from the list. If it has variable dates you enter your preferred dates in the calendar and check for availability. (Pay attention - some workshops only start on certain weekdays!)

Where can I find the workshop address?

You will receive all the meeting details of the workshop after you have successfully completed your booking.

What is included when I book a workshop?

In the “Program” section of your workshop you see a list of all the features that are and are not included in your package. Make sure to carefully check what is included in your workshop. If you can't find your booking confirmation, you can login with your Dedico account and either select "My next holiday" from your personal menu (top right) or go to "My account" and then "My next trip" or "My past trips" in the left menu. Select the booking and scroll down to the bottom, where you can find a button "Contact teacher". You can also always contact us via the "Contact Us" page and we'll relay your message to your teacher.

I have special requests (diet, allergies, disability etc) how does this work?

You can communicate your special requests (like dietary issues, allergies or disabilities) to the organiser of the workshop when booking. Make sure to carefully read the student requirements on the workshop page before booking.

In the unlikely event that you don’t receive anything within 2 hours, please contact us here and make sure include your booking reference in the email. Please do not attempt to rebook if you are unsure if your booking was successful.

I do not need accommodation, can I also book only the course?

How do I know my payment information is safe?

All our payments are processed by our payment provider, the highly reliable Mollie, which uses secure commercial-grade encryption. This means that the payment page is encrypted, so that any information you enter is inaccessible by outside parties and even by us. Furthermore, information relating to your payment (such as your credit card number) never resides on our servers.

What is the CVV/CID Number on my credit card and where do I find it?

The CVV (Card Verification Number) or CID (Card Identification Number) is a security feature that allows us and your credit card issuer to identify you as the cardholder and provide you with additional security against fraud.
You can usually find it printed on the signature field located on the back of your card, or for certain cards it is printed above the card number on the front.

What is Dedico?

We are not a travel agency. Dedico is an open platform for quality workshops and learning holidays all over the world. The concept behind Dedico is introducing workshops as a perfect holiday. We don’t own the workshop catalogue, teachers stay independent and are the owner of the content of their workshops. We just provide the tools necessary to create, host and promote workshops through our platform for a global audience. Next to that we also provide tools for editing and duplicating your workshop, managing bookings and cancellations, and facilitating the payment transactions.

What do we call ‘teachers’?

Teachers can be schools, instructors, academies, camps and collectives who want to feature an existing workshop or create a new one on our platform. Dedico will accept, publish and promote your workshop as long it meets our quality standards.

How does it work for me as a teacher?

Once you have created an account as teacher, you will get access to the teachers page where you will be able to edit your personal template. This template will be a collection of images, text, maps and may also include video. Once completed, we will review your proposal for possible improvements. You will get a notification once your profile is ready to publish. Your workshop will be posted on our platform and also, if you decide to do so, through Dedico’s and your social media channels. Now people can find and book your workshop!

Can anyone organise a workshop?

Workshops can be organised by individual teachers, or by institutions or organisations offering one or more workshops with one or more teachers. Please note that a workshop can only be arranged by one single teacher, organiser, or organisation.

What should be the length of my workshop?

We are into intensive learning, providing for people who really want to achieve a serious learning goal. Therefore we recommend you consider providing a comprehensive program. We have created tools that will adapt to the length and format of the workshop. The minimum recommended length is 4-8 hours per day for either a one day or multiple day workshop. Also a month-long teaching could even be the right length, all depending on the discipline. You are responsible for providing an appropriate length according to the discipline and level of proficiency you teach.

Can anyone attend my workshop?

Here you can choose from two options, ‘free admission’ or ‘student selection’. This selection has to be based on the level/background of your attendees required for a smooth course of your lessons but never be based on personal discrimination such as nationality, religion, sexual orientation or any other form of discrimination.

Do I have to provide accommodation?

Not necessarily, but we strongly recommend you do, in order to make the student’s booking process easier. We know that the extra hassle of booking accommodation, arranging transport and looking for places to eat, can feel like a barrier for those who want to book. We want to guide the process in such a way that these barriers are, as much as possible, absent from the student's experience. Make sure you are aware of all the legalities before you provide accommodation to a student. In some countries, booking accommodation on behalf of a traveller makes you a ‘holiday provider’, which means you will have to be insured as such as well as meet certain criteria. A close partnership with an accommodation provider you trust will probably take away a lot of these issues. If you nevertheless decide not to provide accommodation we will give you the opportunity to recommend your students a nice place nearby via your profile.

What kind of accommodation can I offer for my workshop?

In the best case scenario you can already support accommodation for the whole workshop group within your property. If not, we strongly recommend you find external providers to partner up with. Our vision at Dedico is also activating the local economy and we are pretty sure hotels and B&B's from your area will love to help you out with accommodations for your workshops. Just make sure you are aware of all the legalities before you provide accommodation to a student. In some countries, booking accommodation on behalf of a traveller makes you a ‘holiday provider’, which means you will have to be insured as such as well as meet certain criteria. A close partnership with an accommodation provider you trust will probably take away a lot of these issues.

How do I arrange transportation for my students?

We are not providing flights or any other form of transportation for the students. But if you want to provide extra value to the workshop, you can always arrange transport yourself. Whether you pick up the students yourself or contact a shuttle bus or taxi from the airport. You can of course charge for all of these services. We provide you with the possibility to offer all these extra features and change all these aspects on your workshop page.

Do I have to pay anything for using Dedico?

At Dedico you don’t pay any subscription fee, instead, you will pay a percentage of the workshop fee (15%) that travellers pay when booking through us. You will pay this small percentage for all our services: our software, payments platform and course promotion, etc.

What cancellation policies does Dedico offer?

You can choose from three different cancellation policies for each workshop: strict, moderate and flexible. With Strict, students will receive a full refund during the first 24 hours after making a booking. After this period, no refund is given if they cancel the booking. With Moderate, students will receive a full refund during the first 24 hours after making a booking. Until 30 days before the start of the workshop, students will receive 50% refund. Less than 30 days before the workshop starts, no refund is given. With Flexible, students can cancel up to 7 days before the start of the workshop for a full refund. Less than 7 days before the workshop starts, no refund is given. For more information regarding cancellation policies, check our Terms & Conditions.

What happens in case of cancellation by the student?

You can choose your cancellation policy which determines when a student gets a refund. When a student cancels, we are always on the teacher's side. Where possible, we will cover the cancellation with a person on the waiting list. If you don’t have any student on the waiting list, the person that originally booked will not be refunded the full amount of the workshop, depending on the cancellation policy you chose.

Can a teacher cancel a workshop?

In scenarios where you need to cancel the workshop for unforeseen circumstances, you can cancel under policies and refund the course fee to your attendees. It can of course happen that you don’t receive as much bookings as you would like. When this happens, you can't cancel the workshop. We rather recommend changing certain aspects of the workshop (price, level, location), in order to become more attractive to our users. A workshop can be cancelled under the following unforeseen circumstances:

  • Unexpected death or serious illness of the teacher or immediate family member (spouse/partner, child, parent, legal guardian, grandparent, or sibling)

  • Serious injury that directly restricts teachers' ability to travel or host their workshop.

  • Significant natural disasters or severe weather incidents impacting the location of the workshop.

  • Urgent travel restrictions or severe security advisories issued after the time of booking, by an appropriate national or international authority (such as a government office or department), if the workshop includes travel.

  • Endemic disease declared by a credible national or international authority (such as the US Centers for Disease Control or the World Health Organization)

  • Severe property damage or unforeseen maintenance issues that directly impact the ability to host a workshop safely

  • Government-mandated obligations issued after the time of booking (ex: jury duty, court appearances, military or government assignments)

How can I make my workshop profitable?

You are the owner of your business. Besides your usual workshop fees, you can make extra profit by offering accommodation, food, drinks, material and tools or providing transport, e.g. an airport shuttle. Be creative and create (always fair) margins reflecting the time and effort expected in creating this extra value.
