LET´S MEET
Andrew Morrison
Hi! I am Andrew Morrison
After years of working in construction, I became frustrated by the level of waste in the industry so I attended a straw bale workshop and fell in love with it! Now my passion is bringing people together with a common goal of building shelter using a natural material all while using our own hands.
Bio
Building shelter is woven deeply into our DNA so its no surprise that people come alive and feel empowered when they learn how to do it themselves. Using a beautiful, natural, cost-effective, and energy efficient material like straw bales is one of the best possible ways to create a home and certainly the most fun to build with.
Since 2006, I've personally taught over 2,500 participants how to build their own straw bale homes around the world. The sense of camaraderie that develops amongst the group is incredible and the sense of satisfaction that comes from helping someone build their dream home indescribable.
I have a B.S from Hampshire College in Geology and an Associate's Degree from College of the Redwoods in Construction Technology. I was also the developer/builder of the Straw Bale Village in Jacksonville, OR. But it's really the years of building straw bale homes at our hands-on workshops which have been the most rewarding.
