Description
A highly practical course centered around street and documentary photography. You will learn and practice how to define and construct a story that has visual impact and coherence (storytelling) and find and define your own photographic style through several different assignments during the trip with personalized tuition from Jorge Delgado-Ureña. You'll learn about street photography techniques used by professional photographers and how to operate and know your camera better in order to maximise its use. Also, there will be theoretical and practical sessions on dynamic composition, colour theory as well as post-processing and editing of your photographs.
At the end of each day, you will also have one-on-one image revision sessions with Jorge in which you will discuss and select together the best photos of the day which will then be shared and commented on as a group.

The workshop begins in Marrakech and after the first day we head off towards the desert via the route of the thousand Kasbahs stopping overnight in Boulmane Dades. The next morning we make our way to the Todra Gorge: A 300m deep fault splits the orange limestone into a deep ravine at some points just wide enough for a crystal-clear river and single-file travellers like us to squeeze through. After this stop we continue to Merzouga to begin our adventures in the desert and discover the land of the Berber people. Here we spend one night in a hotel and the second night camping in the middle of the magnificent mountains of golden Sahara desert sand. The next day we make our way back towards Marrakech, stopping overnight in the beautiful town of Zagora. Our two last nights will be spent in Marrakech exploring and capturing the the red city's winding medina and bustling life.
We will be staying at a beautiful traditional riad in Marrakech and hotels with pool during the days we are in and around the desert (perfect to cool off on those hot sunny days). One night will be spent in tents in the middle of the Sahara Desert.
