Detailed Daily Program

Dubrovnik to Boka Kotorska

After landing in Dubrovnik, the transfer vehicle will be waiting to take us to the Bay of Boka Kotorska.

After our check in, we’ll have a brief introduction and then briefing, to discuss what we’ll be about to see and do for the next following days. Then, we’ll have a tour around the city, some free time for sightseeing, dinner and overnight stay.

Boka Kotorska

Our adventure begins in the Bay of Boka Kotorska, the only true fjord on Adriatic sea, where the pirates used to control the narrow entrance into the bay using the chains that were stretched along the narrowest part of the bay.

Arriving into the colorful town of Perast, we'll take our time to familiraize with the equipment, discuss proper paddling techniques and explain some basic safety procedures. After we're properly settled, we start our paddling through the bay, visiting the island Gospa od Skrpjela with its monastery that is still running today.
After we'll continue to old town of Kotor, as well pass San Giovanni fortress that overlooks the bay and roofs of old Kotor – a truly memorable landscape. After spending our whole day kayaking, our transport will take us to Skadar lake.

Skadar lake

Today, we'll paddle and explore the beauty of Skadar lake. Upong disembarking on our kayaks, we'll visit the remains of castles, forts and monasteries, all scatered around Skadar lake. After an exhausting day, we'll visit one of the regional winaries and enjoy the sunset drinking wine and eating fish specialties of this region.

Nova Varos

On the fourth day of our adventure, we'll drive to Nova Varos, a place surrounded by pines, 900m above sea level. We are off to the twisting world of the Uvac river meanders. We sail into the world of jade water and hidden corners. We'll visit a cave that can only be accessed from the water. With our kayaks we enter the gate and explore the underground arches.

Later on we'll disembark and take a light walk to one of the viewpoints that overlooks to a magnificent landscape. After packing our kayaks, we'll have a well deserved lunch. We'll stop and plan the rest of our adventure by eating buckweat pie, domestic cheese, rakija and all other delicacies of this region. Being accommodated in a true air spa, we will have a break and save energy for the next day.

Višegrad

After breakfast we'll head towards Višegrad for a little break of kayaking (but just for this day!), to summarize what we have learned so far, and to enjoy ourselves, even for one day.

There, we'll visit the famost bridge over Drina, build during the Ottoman empire and now protected by UNESCO, that Ivo Andric, the Nobel prize winner, made so popular in his novel, and then walk around the old city. The touristic settlement Andricgrad (Andric city) is dedicated to the mentioned writer and it's also part of our itinerary. Overnight stay in Andricgrad.

Drina canyon

After breakfast, we depart to the confluence of Zepa and Drina rivers and there, we enter with our kayaks in one of the deepest canyons of Europe. We paddle in complete wilderness going through the fantastic nature of Drina canyon. A perfect spot to finish our course, and really take in everything that we’ve learned so far.

Upon exiting the canyon and paddling for couple of hours, we'll visit Raca monastery and its famous fishponds, where we'll taste some of their fish specialities, and discuss everything that we've learned so far. Finally, ready for rest and sleep.

National park Sutjeska

We'll head towards Trebinje city in the morning, down the road of colorful sceneries of Drina canyon and National park Sutjeska.

Here, we’ll recapitulate everything that we’ve learned so far (no questionnaires, we promise!), and also answer any questions or help in any way possible. Making sure, that you are ready to start your own kayaking trips anywhere. To finish it on a high note, we’ll take a visit to monastery Tvrdos, which also coincidently produces some of the finest wines in the region. After our wine degustation, we’ll go to our accommodation for a hearty dinner, and a good night rest.

Farewell in Dubrovnik

After breakfast we’ll head to airport Cilipi, in Dubrovnik, were we’ll say our goodbyes and wish for a safe flight home.
