About Bamboo U
Based in Bali, we are a sustainable bamboo architecture and design workshop centre. Bamboo U was conceived by John Hardy to help teach people about the potential of bamboo as a green building material. The program was founded in 2015 in collaboration with IBUKU by Orin Hardy and Maria Farrugia.

This 11-day bamboo design and construction course in Bali will give you the opportunity to participate in the material sourcing, architectural design and manual construction of full-scale bamboo houses.

Description
Here in Bali bamboo is redefining the rules of architecture and design. We believe the future must be both beautiful and sustainable. The Bamboo U 11 Day course follows a detailed curriculum taking you through the whole life cycle of bamboo, from sustainable forestry to design and construction. Each topic is supported by both theoretical lectures and hands on workshops. The course is guided by a team of academic lecturers and master builders. This course offers the opportunity to build full-scale structures and to develop design skills that will inform your personal design projects.
- This is a full time course: the days begin at 8am and end on some evenings as late as 8:30pm.

Bamboo U is based on the Bamboo U campus and KulKul farm. Participants will stay in accommodation on the Kulkul farm, where meals and lectures will take place. During the workshop we will move between the Bamboo U campus, Kulkul farm and Green School.
Participants can stay in our shared bamboo lodge house, or have the option of a shared or private yurt at an additional cost. Private accommodation can also be arranged nearby at Green Camp.
