Hello, my name is Llewelyn Fernandes. I am a computer scientist and maker providing fun, hands-on workshops for adults and teenagers looking to understand technology.
Details
The robots are coming! And they're here to stay. Robots are appearing in all walks of life, from building products in factories, to mowing your lawn.
Start out in this fascinating field by building your own remote controlled robot. This course does not use a "kit" but builds the robot from component parts and direct programming of controllers.

Description
In this beginners workshop you will build a remote controlled robot powered by a Raspberry Pi computer.
Robotics is a fascinating field that combines electronics, programming, engineering, physics and maths to solve challenging problems. In this workshop you will learn to use a Raspberry Pi computer, build electronic circuits, design a robot from scratch, cut the robot from wood and assemble it using your choice of components, do some soldering, connect a remote control to the robot and program the robot using Python. Finally (if that was not already enough fun) you will compete against the other students to race your robot around a course!
The workshop will run from 9:30 to 16:30 each day.
