About Daan
We are a collective of (inter) nationally leading professionals. Everyone has their own company in their own field. Daan has brought them together as a community of crafts people. We offer workshops in nature.
Details
During this 6-day woodworking workshop in the Netherlands, you learn to work comfortably with green wood in the middle of nature. What does wood do when it shrinks? How can you prevent it from splitting? And how do you work with old fashion joints? Let's explore different design aspects, wood choices, growth, strength, and typical woodworking hand tools.

Description
If you love being in nature and working with wood, this workshop will be an extraordinary experience. We’re going to cut down a tree and will shape the timber with handtools such as an axe, drawknife and pole-lathe. We also steam and bend the wood if necessary. After this week you will be going home with your own handmade furniture of your choice, like a chair, stool or side-table.

The terrain of The Green Circle is on the estate De Zonnebloem in the beautiful countryside in the east of Holland. The different workshops for the variety of disciplines that will be taught are made of large logs with different roofs. The fresh wood workshop has a wooden roof of no less than 8x8 meters and the outdoor workshop for forging is built between two dikes with a grass roof. The working spaces for basketry and sculpture are made of a beautiful wooden structure with cotton tarpaulin. Our new field kitchen, which we have built in 2016, has a big roof of 10 meters length, so we can eat protected from the occasional rain. The highlight of our field kitchen is the cozy campfire spot in the center. This year we're busy building the ceramics workshop and oven. During your stay you have the possibility to sleep in a tent, a camper or a log cabin right next to our premises which can be booked separately. Nearby there are also a lot of B&B's, hostels or hotels available.
