Hi! I am Miranda Van Der Waal
In the studio of Miranda van der Waal (Rotterdam, 1959) an old craft is put into practice in a contemporary way. Miranda practices flamework. This is an old Venetian technique with which ornamental objects or ornaments are modeled by a flame. Her work is Inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
Bio
Miranda has been an independent glass artist for over 40 years. She has exhibited in well-known galleries all over the Netherlands. She also works on assignment. She has designed lampshades for the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and well known theaters.
For 10 years she has been organizing workshops on a regular basis.
