Detailed Daily Program

Day 1

Arrive at Venezia airport where your teacher/guide will meet & greet you. After a welcome everybody speech, we pack our bags in our transport, and head to Cortina d'Ampezzo.

This is where we’ll be accommodated for the duration of our adventure. After settling in, a short briefing discussing what we’re going to do for the next 3 days. Good night rest.

Day 2

Breakfast. Finally, we are ready to start. We transfer to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain (15 min drive), then a light trek to Ferrata Giovanni Barbara (30min). Today, we’ll climb ferrata’s at lower altitudes and mostly those that are oriented to the south because those are warmer. The environment we come across is breathtaking: the forest greens around us make a striking contrast with steep Taè south face and the grey Col Bechei limestone.

First, we start our training on a ferrata rated 1B (beginners rating). Before we start our climb, you’ll have a lecture about the equipment that is being used, and we’ll explain the various variants of climclimbing and being insured at all times. After passing through the ferrata, we return to our hotel for tour of Cortina and rest.

Day 3

Morning and breakfast. Today’s plan is to pass Alpini Via Ferrata at Col dei Bos. This particular ferrata is one level harder than the one we conquered yesterday. The Alpini Via Ferrata is situated on the South face of the pyramid shaped Col dei Bos and is equipped with metal roping and innovative anti-fall cones, as well as pitons.

The initial path begins from the bar's car park, goes uphill, passes through the remains of an Italian Field Hospital from the I World War. This is a medium-grade climb, in some places vertical and unsheltered from the elements, until it reaches the grass near the summit and the cross on the Col di Bos peak. From here you are rewarded with a 360° panorama of all the greatest Dolomite peaks. We return to our hotel for a deserved dinner and a good night rest.

Day 4

Breakfast. Today, you will have the opportunity to show everything you’ve learned in the past two days. We’ve prepared a live test to, well, test what you’ve learned on the ferratas during this weekend. Of course, the goal here is to learn, and take in as much as possible, so no worries if you didn’t get everything right. The point is to prepare for future climbing adventures.

After congratulatory hugs and pats on the back (we prefer hugs), we’ll have a relaxing tour of Cortina d'Ampezzo, with a visit to museum devoted to winter Olympics, which were organized here two times. After, it’s sadly time for your transfer to Venezia airport so you can catch your flight home. We wish you a safe flight, with a promise we’ll see you soon on another adventure.
