Description
We discover the most beautiful places of Iceland under sail.
Melting glaciers and glowing meadows is what we will find in the North West nature reserve Hornstrandir. But also arctic foxes changing into their summer suit, whales in the fjords and birds nesting along the cliffs.
Sailing from Isafjordur we enter a larger fjord system, The Isafjardarjup. Gorgeous glacier Drangajokull is the key attraction. Depending on the weather and wind forcast we, shape our course. Our main destination during this week is Hornbjarg and its towering bird cliffs.
The waters around North West Iceland attract many large sea mammals like Finwhales, Seinwhales, Humpback whales and Minkey whales.
After spending the better part of the week exploring the fjord system we end our trip back in Isafjordur.

The Tecla was build in 1915 as a Ketch herring drifter. A fishing vessel that would roam the North Sea for weeks on end to fill her hull with barrels of herring. These Loggers were being build by the dozen in the early 1900’s. A design to carry as much fish as possible and still be the fastest of the fleet. The Tecla is known as one of those fast ones with authentic looks and a crew that knows her every inch. Sailing the Tecla means sailing a real classic beauty, but she is dressed for her time and game.

There are 8 cabins, each for 2 persons. The cabins are situated in the middle of the Tecla and two of the cabins are in the front. Your bunk is inside one of the two person cabins. Your bed will be either the high or the lower bed of a bed bunk. All beds are over 80cm wide and 2 meters long. Each bed has a reading light for the evening hours. The cabins are ensuite. In the cabin itself you will find a fountain and mirror. Your clothing can be stored in a closet and your bag or suitcase can be stored under the bed.
