Detailed Daily Program
Description
During your week with us you will attend 5 daily group classes in fiction and non-fiction writing and publishing. You will explore different topics and aspects of writing, such as story structure, word plays, dialogue, memoirs, outlines, character development, open loops and publishing now.
Next to the group classes you will also have 1-3 intense one-on-one coaching sessions in writing and publishing. You will make your individual appointments in the course of the 7 days. We will also provide you a complimentary copy of the textbook “Your Plans For Writing a Book” that you can take home with you to support you in your further writing.
Together with the class we enjoy a continental breakfast each morning before we start in the day. After the classes we have some fun guided events planned, to complete your cultural experience. You will explore the region and get to know Mexico, its people, culture and cuisine through social events and culinary experiences. There will also be plenty of time to enjoy readings or mingle with the group and network with other writers during the social events. As a participant of the retreat you will also be provided with a bicycle to explore the area on your own. Optionally we also offer a ‘Writers 5-Star Lunch and Lagoon Tour’ or even more entertaining tours, if you decide to extend your stay in Mexico. On the last day of the retreat we will enjoy a tasty Farewell Dinner together to round off your writing vacation.
Even though not included in the package, we will help you find an accommodation that fits your needs, wishes and budget perfectly (deluxe on-site accommodation is limited).

Day 1 program
Day 1 - 5, We meet at the retreat kitchen for breakfast together - all locally sourced healthy, delicious foods and drinks including coffee, tea, fruit juices and jamaica (local iced drink), also baked goods, breads, preserves, granola, natural no-sugar yogurt, the best fresh local fruits: watermelon, mango, orange, pineapple, papaya, banana, etc.
We continue with coffee in the covered OUTDOOR CLASSROOM where facilitator Kathrin starts the process of getting to know one another as well as creating a safe space. The class (2-hrs) focuses on word play and story structure with fun and creative exercises. Homework is given. Writing coaching is booked for day/week. The plan for the week is reviewed including that night's dinner plans. Participants often go to lunch together.

Continuing classes moving to more advanced subjects as well as reviewing homework with breakfast. Followed by one on one coaching sessions where you get an appointment to discuss your project and your writing concerns and get Kathrin's well lauded and expert coaching that is the hallmark of our retreats.
That night's dinner plans. Participants optionally go to lunch together.

Continuing classes moving to more advanced subjects as well as reviewing homework with breakfast. Followed by one on one coaching sessions where you get an appointment to discuss your project and your writing concerns and get Kathrin's well lauded and expert coaching that is the hallmark of our retreats.
That night's dinner plans - sometimes DANCING (optional). Participants optionally go to lunch together. Sometimes we have a pool party!

Day 6 - We have our Writer's Lunch at the famous Grande Bay island and a lagoon tour that people LOVE, LOVE, LOVE seeing the flora and fauna and gorgeous sights.
One on one coaching sessions may happen before or after lunch, where you get an appointment to discuss your project and your writing concerns and get Kathrin.

Day 7 program
Day 7 - Often a special author guest is invited prior to our AWESOME FAREWELL DINNER at the retreat house where a grand time is had by all as we have BONDED and adore each other. The times are fun but bitter sweet to say goodbye (and why many return).
One on one coaching sessions are booked during the day and the last opportunity for you to get great advice and customized help.Some participants stay on for a day or two and go on tours we can help arrange (or some go during the day when they are in town):

The retreat will take place at “Casa Creatividad” in Mexico. The closest airport is Manzanillo, just 25 min south of the retreat. “Casa Creatividad - Escape to Creative Happiness” is a boutique retreat center in a beautiful, seaside town north of Manzanillo. The center is an important part of a wonderful, happy community, using solar power and giving it back to the people. At Casa Creatividad, retreats and classes in English Creative Writing have been held for several years, and they are expanding their knowledge and offer constantly, as there are yoga and dance retreats happening there as well. Their goal is to encourage people who usually don’t find enough time to be creative anymore to be creative again and explore their creativity to its fullest though writing, storytelling, theatre, playmaking or dancing, even in their day-to-day life.
